16th JDC
The court maintained a full-time Information Technology Manager position to provide preventative maintenance and repair services to the court’s servers and personal computers and to provide for planning and implementation of enhanced court technology applications. Also, a fiber WAN/LAN network was maintained in all three parishes which includes judges, all court staff, and courtrooms, and provides for internet and email access to all judges and employees to provide enhanced efficiency and to provide for future applications. Wireless network access is maintained in all three courthouses. The court maintained video conferencing arraignment systems in all three parishes, and continued to develop systems to allow for remote conferencing by judges and to provide for remote appearances in the courtrooms. Video conferencing upgrades were made in St. Martin Parish. Court servers were maintained in all three parishes for the processing and storage of court data. Redundant backup systems were maintained that ensure data integrity and disaster recovery. Stricter security protocols were implemented and all devices are being encrypted, with about 70% completion during the reporting period. Court audio backup digital recording equipment is standardized in all three parishes. Audio recordings were centrally stored and remote access provided via VPN to judges. Court recorded audio data is incorporated into the courts redundant backup system. Court storage systems allow for audio recording storage for an estimated ten years. Custom software and infrastructure was designed and built to securely deliver backup courtroom audio to court reporters. The system protects against tampering and unauthorized access and creates an audit log to document who is accessing what data and when. Audio-visual equipment was maintained in courtrooms for evidence presentation. Wireless microphones were maintained in courtrooms to enhance sound systems where wired microphones cannot be accessed. A document camera was maintained in St. Martin Parish to allow for paper evidence to be projected into the digital video display system. Audio-visual equipment was also maintained in the Family Court Hearing Officer Conference rooms to allow the parties to visualize the figures in Community Property Partition worksheets and to use as visual aids in mediation of family law issues. Hearing officers also used this technology for Google Translate for non-English speaking parties when a translator was not available, for Skype when a party was allowed to attend a conference from a remote location, and for demonstrating the use of software/apps to which the parties are ordered to subscribe. The St. Mary Parish Family Court routinely utilized family communication software, Our Family Wizard , in high-conflict cases. The families were ordered to subscribe to the service with professional access to the Hearing Officer so that the parties were aware their communication can be monitored, thereby maintaining civility in communication. The St. Mary Parish Hearing Officers emailed to subscribing parties (via an email address that cannot be replied to) information on best practices regarding maintaining proper communication between the parents and dealing with issues of raising children after a divorce. Parents of young children are provided with the Sesame Street Little children for BIG challenges: divorce packet containing a Sesame Street DVD for children to understand divorce, a Guide for Parents and Caregivers, and a children’s storybook for use with young children at home. When they left the Hearing Officer Conference, Parents were routinely provided with a copy of the Arizona Chapter of the AFCC Co-Parenting Communication Guide when they left the Hearing Officer Conference. Computers and peripheral equipment was purchased on a regular ongoing basis as needed. Antivirus software was maintained on every court computer and is centrally managed and monitored. Wireless audio systems, compatible with courtroom audio equipment, were available to accommodate the needs of individuals with a hearing impairment.

The 17th JDC maintained and utilized aiSmartbench dashboard technology and assisted with the Louisiana Protective Order Registry aiDashboard development. The court also used WarrantNow digital warrants.
19th JDC
The 19th JDC eliminated transportation of inmates for traffic offenses, by doing "call out" via polycam. The court also relocated the Drug Court Treatment Center and all of its technology, due to the flood of August 2016. The court installed a new Wi-Fi network in courthouse and implemented an automated call distribution system to rout incoming phone calls to the appropriate office without the need for an operator. Also, the court upgraded many staff computers' operating system from Windows XP to Windows 10.
