Additional actions taken by the courts to address this objective
16th JDC | Judges responded to juror feedback regarding courtroom facilities and general court security procedures. Also, jurors in St. Martin Parish were able to complete and submit the Juror Qualification Questionnaire on the court's website. |
30th JDC | The court added an additional criminal plea day each month to expedite docket management. |
34th JDC | Created a "hybrid" type of jury pool system whereby divisions of the district share information regarding jury trial dates. This was done to coordinate the usage of jurors called for in a given week. |
36th JDC | Prior to beginning the juror process, the court used a video to inform jurors of what service entails. |
38th JDC | In criminal cases, the court utilized the Monday of the jury week to take up pleas. The court had the jury venire appear on Tuesday, if trial was necessary. This prevented the jury from appearing if all cases were resolved on Monday. |
Orleans Parish Civil District Court | The court used online jury check-in and scheduling. It also used kiosks for jury check-in. |
