CROWLEY CITY COURT
The clerk worked closely with litigants and ensured they were educated in how to keep costs down.
EUNICE CITY COURT
The court encouraged self-represented litigants and assisted them as much as possible.
JEANERETTE CITY COURT
The court noted that litigation costs have escalated due to the filing of written discovery in all criminal cases, increased computer-generated forms from law enforcement, and the advent of dash cams and body cameras on police officers.
JEFFERSON PARISH 1ST PARISH COURT
The court reported that the clerk of court implemented E-File civil software.
JEFFERSON PARISH 2ND PARISH COURT
The court used minute entries in lieu of pre-trial orders and oral motions to continue.
KAPLAN CITY COURT
If defendants indicated at arraignment that there would not be a trial, no subpoenas were sent out.
NEW ORLEANS 1ST CITY COURT
New Orleans 1st City Court reported it reduced costs by facilitating settlements.
NEW ORLEANS MUNICIPAL AND TRAFFIC COURT
The court reported that it reduced litigation costs by expediting trials.
SLIDELL CITY COURT
Slidell City Court has not raised civil filing fees in the last ten years, although keeping the cost the same is becoming more of a challenge.
WINNSBORO CITY COURT
The court used an open calendar, which significantly limited continuances and unnecessary delays.
