11th JDC
The 11th JDC kept a docket of all cases set for future dates. After receiving an official docket from the Clerk's office, the office double-checks the official docket to ensure that there are no cases that have been mistakenly left off. Double-checking the docket eliminated parties from appearing for court who might have erroneously been left off the docket. Thus, the court was prepared for each case on the docket. Additionally, the 11th JDC utilized the skills of the district hearing officer on each civil court day. The 11th JDC District Hearing Officer heard protective orders (no attorney involved) and uncontested divorces while the court was hearing pretrial cases with attorneys or while in trial in the courtroom. By having two courts running simultaneously, less time was wasted, cases were addressed quicker, and people spent less time waiting for their case to be called.
