Please share any obstacles you encountered in providing adequate access to the courts through uniform forms and suggestions, if any, to overcome those obstacles.

16th JDC	The St. Martin Parish Family Court encountered obstacles with having to explain that the court cannot provide legal advice. This obstacle was overcome by directing court users to the Lafayette Bar, Acadiana Legal Services, Self-Represented Litigant information and signage, and battered women's shelter for resources.
17th JDC	A company from Florida is charging $600 to complete our court forms and instructions for unsuspecting litigants.
22nd JDC	Due to the frustration of drafting one-size-fits-all forms, the court decided to include televised help instructions. The court is working on the videos now.
33rd JDC	The court is working with LSBA to revise forms on the court website for divorce confirmations, due to self-represented litigants' lack of knowledge of procedure.
38th JDC	Self-represented litigants generally would ask staff at clerk's office for assistance in completing the forms. The court provided the clerk's office with information on legal services and legal aid to provide to those who request it.
Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court	An obstacle is complex case types which are difficult to explain to public without providing legal advice.
