Additional actions taken by the courts to address this objective
1st Circuit | The court continued its Chief Judge's Desk, a monthly reporting process. The chief judge presents a report at the beginning of each Administrative Conference to keep the conference informed, to identify progress of ongoing projects, and suggest actions to the conference to implement or comply with any required changes in the law and procedure. |
2nd Circuit | Each judge of this court immediately received rules and legislative updates, as well as Louisiana Supreme Court's rulings and administrative orders. The judges then act upon this information as needed. |
3rd Circuit | The court updated its website to make it more user friendly. The website provided the court's internal rules to help keep the general public and attorneys apprised of any internal rules or appellate court uniform rules changes. The website also provided all current and upcoming dockets as well as published opinions from the court with links to the websites of the other appellate courts and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
The court disseminated an updated jurisdictional index to the clerks of court of the twenty-one parishes within its jurisdiction and posted the index on its website upon a change in the law regarding the confidentiality of contact information of victims of domestic violence.
The court continued to have its judges and staff attend relevant seminars on recent developments in law and procedures.
