4th JDC
The court used hearing officers to expedite family law cases.
5th JDC
The court held hearing office conferences.
7th JDC
The court allowed scheduling conferences by telephone instead of requiring them to be in person; they could be held with court personnel instead of being personally done by the judge.
9th JDC
If the attorneys requested, they were placed on a fast track docket. However we found that more were asking that jury trials be set out six months or more. Custody matters have always had an expedited process. Bench trials were easily placed on a docket if an expedited hearing was sought.
10th JDC
The court used case management orders, routine telephone conferences and, special settings if necessary.
15th JDC
The court used hearing officer conferences.
21st JDC
The court established deadlines for filing and hearing motions and exceptions sufficiently in advance of trial to avoid delays and continuances.
25th JDC
The court provided special settings on its calendar to accommodate expedited matters.
33rd JDC
The court held telephone conferences with attorneys to offer more efficient trial scheduling.
36th JDC
The court held phone conferences to immediately address issues that could be addressed by phone.
Caddo Parish Juvenile Court
The Children's Code mandates expedited trials.
East Baton Rouge Juvenile Court
All Juvenile matters are handled as expeditiously as possible in accordance with time frames outlined in the Louisiana Children's Code.
Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court
Certain case types have statutory guidelines that encourage expedited hearings.
