Additional actions taken by the courts to address this objective
1st Circuit | The First Circuit adopted a procedure to process cases affected by amended LSA-C.C.Pr. art. 966 (H). This legislative change required the issuing of a briefing schedule and allowing the request of oral argument in the court's consideration of certain writ applications. The procedure instituted by our court provides a consistent application of the statute and in a format familiar to the litigants.
The court instituted the Chief Judge's Desk, a monthly reporting process. It is a report given at the beginning of each Administrative Conference to identify progress of ongoing projects and to suggest action to the Conference to implement or comply with any required changes in the law and procedure. |
2nd Circuit | Each Second Circuit judge immediately received rules and legislative updates, as well as Louisiana Supreme Court rulings and administrative orders. The judges then act upon this information as needed. |
3rd Circuit | Third Circuit judges and staff attended relevant seminars on recent developments in law and procedures. |
