Additional actions taken by the courts to address this objective
1st Circuit | The clerk's office posted various checklists on the court's website to aid litigants when preparing filings. These checklists provided simple guidance for all interested filers. The clerk s office continued in-house training to provide uniformity in responses to basic filing questions posed to the court by the public. |
2nd Circuit | The court's self-represented litigant manual continued to be available in both print and electronic format. The electronic version is available on the website and the printed manual is routinely mailed upon request and is available at the front counter. The court's website continued to provide checklists for filings and notice of new/amended rules that may affect procedures. Fees are also published on the website and in the self-represented litigant manual.
A pro-active approach was taken to ensure physical accessibility to all citizens; the court consistently reviewed internal procedures and policies to promote equal accessibility for all. The court recently acquired and installed upgraded courtroom assisted listening devices which are available for public use.

3rd Circuit | The court continued to post its self-represented litigant manual and Handbook of Louisiana Court of Appeal, Third Circuit Procedure on its website as well as an appellate brief and supervisory writ checklists to aid litigants in the appellate procedure. The court also provided copies of the manual by mail and was available to provide the appellate record to the litigant via email or CD. |
4th Circuit | The 4th Circuit clerk's office dealt with self-represented litigants on a case-by-case basis. |
