Objective

4.5 To recognize new conditions or emerging events and to adjust court operations as necessary

Intent of the Objective

Effective courts are responsive to trends and emerging issues. This objective requires courts to recognize and respond appropriately. A court that moves deliberately in response to such issues is a stabilizing force in society and acts consistently with its role in maintaining the rule of law and building public trust and confidence.

BAKER CITY COURT
Baker City Court installed a new case management system.
CROWLEY CITY COURT
The court updated its copier, purchased additional computer monitors and filing cabinets, updated its postage meter, purchased a large white dry/erase board for the courtroom to post upcoming court dates for all litigants to see, and added additional electrical outlets in the courtroom to more readily allow for courtroom efficiency.
JEFFERSON PARISH 1ST PARISH COURT
The court installed new SQL database machine for the Parish Court Information Management System (PCIMS) and started a rewrite of the probation module within the PCIMS system.
JEFFERSON PARISH 2ND PARISH COURT
Second Parish Court installed Cisco networking equipment which will enable the conversion to voice-over IP phones. Installation of the telephones will commence in the near future. Also, the court has installed a new database server and is anticipating the installation of a new email server.
JENNINGS CITY COURT
The court updated bookkeeping software.
LAFAYETTE CITY COURT
Lafayette City Court continued work on a new website, which will allow interaction with the public, members of the bar and other government agencies as needed.
MINDEN CITY COURT
The court installed civil, criminal, and juvenile case management software.
